In upcoming weeks I will be cooking through the recipes in JK Meshi.
JK Meshi shows very simple and interesting recipes after a good amount of mundane talking. Each show is around three minutes in length so it’s a given that each dish must be explained quickly. I am very eager to want to try making these dishes because of how time friendly each are.
In this episode Ryoka gets very strange and increasingly awkward. Her seemingly inability to cope with doing poorly at school made this episode one of the funnier ones in this series. The warring states joke was done so well because of her voice acting. I really like it when tsukkomi break into humor.
After cooking this dish, I gave it for my friends to try. They said the same thing calling it “interesting”. I’d like to hope that interesting is the same as wild and it came out very well. The chocolate does melt nicely inside the pouch and after frying the gyoza the skin is delightfully crispy and speckled like sugar was topped on after frying.
I also had trouble naming it at first. I started calling it fried choco as well but just like in the show the best naming conclusion is choco goyza. It’s a very minor triviality, but when you cook like this show does, creativity in cooking doesn’t end after the food is made!
